The exhibition was inspired by the absence of a word for ‘love’ in Juhuri, a language spoken by Jews in the Caucasus – a lack that speakers make up for through alternatives. Approaching various people to write essays on love without using the word itself, I created an eclectic body of work that reflects the variety of attitudes in the essays, which together formed a greater whole.
